Your Juvederm injections can be completed in approximately 60+ minutes. This may vary depending on the amount of correction you are seeking. Some clients experience a small amount of swelling for the first day and bruising.

Although most clients find the injections to be relatively painless, a topical anesthetic may also be applied to the area prior to receiving your treatment. Please allow an additional 15 minutes when requesting a topical anesthetic.

Downtime & Aftercare for Hyaluronic Acid Fillers

Dermal filler treatments generally involve minimal downtime, though individual experiences can vary. It’s common to experience mild swelling, bruising, or tenderness at the injection sites. To help minimize bruising and swelling, we recommend starting Arnica Montana supplements 2 days before your appointment and continuing for up to a week afterward. For best results, avoid alcohol for 3 days prior to treatment, refrain from strenuous exercise for 24 hours after, and apply ice to the treated area intermittently during the first 1–2 days. If needed for discomfort, Tylenol (acetaminophen) may be taken—provided it’s medically appropriate for you.

Additionally, if approved by your healthcare provider, consider pausing medications or supplements that may increase bleeding risk—such as aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, vitamin E, fish oil, krill oil, ginseng, St. John’s wort, and ginkgo biloba—at least 2 weeks before your treatment.

Results can be seen immediately following treatment and may last approximately 6-18 months depending on the product used.
