You can receive this at the same appointment as Botox/Dysport.

Item descriptionPatients predisposed to developing cold sores should start on an antiviral medication such as Valtrex at least 2 days before A 7-day course of therapy is recommended (2 days prior and 5 days following treatment).

Patients taking medications with anticoagulant effects, such as Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Aleve, and Celebrex or high doses of certain herbs such as gingko, vitamin E, garlic or ginseng may have an increased risk of bleeding or bruising. If possible, it is advised to discontinue these medications two weeks prior to treatment. If you can’t, the procedure can still be done, but with higher risk of bruising.

Schedule all other spa or medical-grade facial treatments you are interested in receiving prior to your SKINVIVE™ appointment. If you are planning other procedures including laser treatments or a chemical peel, there is a possible risk of inflammation at the treatment site if these procedures are performed closely before or after SKINVIVE™ injectable gel treatment.

Avoid rubbing and touching the area.

There may be slight to moderate swelling and redness in the injected area for 24-48 hours. Avoid massaging or applying pressure to the treated area, unless instructed to do so.

Avoid applying products directly after treatment.

Tylenol may be taken for any discomfort.

Cool compresses may be applied gently for 5 minutes up to 4 times a day.

For the first 24 hours:

or for as long as bruising persists, avoid extensive sun or heat exposure

avoid strenuous exercise and alcoholic beverages

keep head elevated while sleeping

Avoid receiving any other spa or medical-grade facial treatments for 4 weeks following treatment. If you are planning other procedures including laser treatments or a chemical peel, there is a possible risk of inflammation at the treatment site if these procedures are performed closely before or after SKINVIVE™ injectable gel treatment.

There is a small potential for the injectable to not disperse evenly and form a small “nodule”. Typically, a nodule cannot be seen but you may be able to feel it. If this occurs and is bothersome, please call our office to schedule a follow-up appointment. The nodule may be a lingering bruise not requiring treatment; however, if a true nodule has formed we may be able to evenly disperse the product.
